Relay for Life October 6th, 2007

On October 6th, 2007 I did the Relay for Life in Belton with my grandmother, and parents. It was a really neat experience. I felt that it was important to do this for my grandmother, Inie, who survived colon cancer. I was also walking in honor of my Papa (who died from pancreatic cancer), Mamaw (who died from colon cancer), James Aubrey (died from unknown cancer), and in honor of Mimi (survived breast cancer), and Lana (fighting skin cancer).

If you have never done one of these events before, I highly recommend it. It was really cool to see all the survivors doing the Victory Lap. Inie did the whole lap! It was the most that I had seen her walk in 4 years. I was so proud of her.

I wasn't able to raise as much money as I would have liked, but maybe next year. I am hoping that I will be able to get all my family involved in this so that we can really do this the way we should...as a family.

This is my grandmother, Inie. She is a colon cancer SURVIVOR. She is amazing and I love her dearly.

This is my Mom, Peggy. She is an amazing person who was just diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. If I had to choose a cancer for her to get, I am glad it is this one because it is HIGHLY unlikely that she will have complications from it once they remove the tumor. Not to mention she is a hell of a fighter.

This is my Dad...don't worry he doesn't have cancer. He is a great supporter in everything that I do. Without him and Mom, I don't know what would I do.
