I was fortunate enough to get to go to the Armed Forces Bowl on New Years Eve. Here are some pics and information about the game. If you ever get the chance to go to one, I highly recommend it.
Wow what a cool game. The flyover, the helicopters, the amazing plays. It was so much fun! I had a really good time with my Dad and his friend Pat and Pat's family. It was one of the coolest games I have ever been to. Go Blue! They may have lost the game, but it wasn't because they gave up or didn't play a good game. I would definitely go see them play again :)
These are the parachuters that land on the 50 yard line. I got to see them fly, but not land. It was cool. They also do a flyover with jets. I couldn't get the camera out fast enough to get a pic of that, but it was a site to see. The 2 guys on the right are holding the Falcon. They let it go and it flies over the crowd.
I just thought this was a cool pic of the scoreboard. I took it while the Falcons were still ahead. Helluva game. Helluva game.
There were so many good plays. It was great to see how well they played together as a team. There are no real "stars" on this team, but they play VERY well.
The pic on the left is of an injured player. He got slammed in his leg by the opponents helmet, but he sat up on the stretcher to watch as much of the game as he could before they took him to the hospital. The pic on the right is pretty obvious. Its a huddle in case its not as obvious as I think.
This is a cool tradition. Apparently its a fairly new tradition, but neat nonetheless. At the end of the game, win or lose, they come together as a team. Coaches, players, cheerleaders all stand before the crowd. It is very moving. They may have just lost a game, but they still won as a team.
This sign says, "The only Cal we love is Calhoun". The AFA Coach is Coach Calhoun. That is his wife holding the sign.

Team Spirit is not lost on AFA. I took a pic of the crowd opposite us because it was SOOO BLUE!! Didn't see a whole lot of California represented there. The second pic is that of the AFA cheerleaders. They were fun to watch. Still hard to see female and male cheerleaders at an Air Force Academy. Don't know why, just is.
This is the same kind of helicopter that saved my Dad's life in Vietnam a long time ago. It was cool to see it take off. Dad was telling me stories of how they used to sit 6 guys with their backs to each other and the doors open as they flew around. That would totally FREAK me out. Haha. The guys in the pic on the right were the "flyover" pilots. I still can't even tell you how cool that was.

This is a pic of Dad and his friends, the Evans. They were a lot of fun. They have the best behaved kids I have ever seen. Can you imagine....4 kids, and not a single problem the whole football game. They have manners, and they are hilarious with their impressions.
Dad and Me before the game. My eyes are closed, but its still a good pic. We are such dorks with our matching outfits.

That looks like it was and AWESOME time spent with you dad!
And on a side note,
I NEED HELP!!! I have to take the HESI entrance exam before I apply to the nursing program this spring.
I'm scared. What do I study???
No. It's a HESI entrance exam that ACC requires before you apply. It doesn't cover nursing courses, but it covers math, reading, biology, chemistry, and A&P.
I got the book for the HESI entrance exam from the HESI web site that acc reccommends, but I think the book sucks.
I don't think I learned much in Anatomy or Physiology. I just managed to do well by sheer luck, or something...
I have no idea what kind of tissue lines every cavity of the body. that was brute memorization.
I always root for our armed forces in athletic competition. In a way they represent us all.
