NYC Trip

WOW!! This was quite the trip. Read and view the pics and you will understand.

Day 1
We are ready to leave for NYC. Or so we thought. We got up early. We were at the airport by 730 (our flight didn't leave until 930). We had breakfast, saw some of my Mom's friends that were going to NY at the same time as us. Our flight time came and went. 1 hour turned to 2, then they tell us that they are replacing the fuel pump on our plane, and once we are cleared by aviations we can head out. Well, another 2 hours pass and guess what OUR FLIGHT WAS CANCELLED! The thing that really sucks is that there were 2 flights to NYC that left on time that we may have been able to get. Well, now comes the fun. Rushing from gate to gate getting on every standby until our angel, Jenny Warren, got us a confirmed flight out of Dallas at 430 pm...Of course, it didn't leave for another hour plus. But we did get to NYC at
around 930 at night. We hung out, ordered a NY Pizza, and hit the sack after a VERY long day.

Day 2
Early morning. Slept good and was excited to start our day. We walked ALL OVER NYC! We saw so much and did a lot of shopping. It was fun. We had planned on hitting up Central Park, but we had so much fun walking around town and seeing everything that we had to get back to the hotel to get ready for our play. We went to see Young Frankenstein...Megan Mulally from Will and Grace was in it. It was awesome! I laughed so hard. They even made a joke at Bear Stearns expense (FYI that is the bank that went belly up recently). After the play we went to the Algonquin, had drinks and spilled the beans on all our childhood secrets and then some. Ha ha. Mom and Dodie were D-R-U-N-K. They giggled like school girls and then drunk dialed my Dad at 1 o'clock in the morning. Then they drunk dialed my brother. I almost wet my pants laughing at them.

Day 3
Late start. Everyone was hung over. Still laughing about the crazy night, but hungover nonetheless. We went to eat at Bond 45 where Kyle, one of my Mom's friends sons, and the food was amazing. I had eggs benedict with crab meat. YUM!! After lunch, we walked around downtown and went to the Top of the Rock (the Rockefeller Center) and then to the MOMA. We also went and did a lot of shopping. It was so fun. After shopping, we went back to the hotel to take a nap and recover. Then we went out to Jule's in the East Village. That place is amazing. They had live jazz music and food that was to die for. The Filet Mignon and Scalloped Potatoes and then to top it off the Peach Tart. I was in love....

Day 4
We missed our flight! I don't know where all the miscommunication came in, but bottom line is that none of us checked the tickets. I called American Airlines and asked to switch our flight. The person I spoke with said it was going to be $763 per person to change our tickets. Our round trip tickets were only $290. WTF? Needless to say we decided to go standby and lucked out because we got to the airport and caught the first flight out. It was crazy. The flight sucked. I was in the back by the engines, but oh well, I was going to get home. Then we get back to Dallas, drop off Dodie and Paige, and Mom and I start home. It took almost an hour and a half longer than it should have because there was "construction". Amazing thing about that is that I didn't see anyone working.

All in all it was an EXCELLENT trip. I had a lot of fun and saw a lot of stuff. Laughter was great!! Excellent trip.
